has anyone ever tested and proven the shark racing 160 degree thermostat? im not sure if our cars could run colder and not get messed up. for some reason i would think our computers would have a fit and the coolant temp sensor would be pissed... i have a turboed tiburon so heat is definatly an issue, i was just wondering if our motor/ecu would accually like a colder coolant temp...
also im planning on exhaust wrap for my oxb manifold and maybe even a turbo wrap. but im wondering : since it holds the heat inside the exhaust, the exhaust is hotter. if the exhaust is hotter, will it not flow as well??
i know im probably way over thinking but i just want some input and i also searched for this and it only came up with like coolant flushes and stuff thanks

Hotter exhaust exits faster.
If your concerned about motor temps, just get high flowing cfm fans (Flexalite, etc.) and wire in the AC fan to run at the same time as the main engine cooling fan.

I'd suggest that you do some searching about thermostats, we've talked about these several times.

you COULD run without a thermostat.. there are SOME people that say its bad, and SOME that praise it ALLL day long..
but shit, get a koyo radiator, or a good set of pusher FALS.. and wire it for both fans to come on at same time, not one when AC is on, and one on when engine says soo..

yah ive got a stock fan, and a FAL pushing through the radiator. That coupled with my venting hood, underhood temps are just above ambient on a warm day...

And you say you've built your own engine?
yes, i didnt know that hotter exhaust gas flows better. i figured heat rises and if its trying to be pushed a differnt way than up it might not flow as well... sorry

I hate to sound all newb and all, but what is "FAL pushing through the radiator". And is there anything more to have the second fan come on other than splice the control wires from the first one into the second one (I assume I can use the Hyundai tech wiring guide to find the appropriate wire colors)? Any good place to find some of the high cfm fans for a Tib?

ya get some flex a lite 220s.
they are a type of fan that pushes a lot more air than stock, and they are a lower profile. he has it set up on the outside of the car on the radiator pushing through it into the engine bay
