RS-CAI Dumb Question..
Well...ive decided to go for the Random Special until the SR CAI is available, but was just wondering what size tubing to I need to fit over the black rubber stock (intake??) tube once the airbox has been removed completely...thanks

well heres my deal, Im going to a location tommorow with a bunch of friends and am trying to whip something up by tommorow night(yeah VERY short notice i know!),and previously had my airbox off with just a cone filter attached to the stock intake tubing, but I was reading on here and decided that id rather just build my own intake(especially after seeing Randoms Dyno results )...Im theorizing that JUST the cone filter on the tubing isnt too efficient nor healthy though it did make my car howl in the lower RPM range and gave me some high-end push...I just think the RS will be a safer bet for the engine so im gonna give it shot and save some bills..any other input is greatly appreciated

And I beleive 2.5" tubing will fit snugly onto both the stock intake piping and the cone filter, but just clarifying...Ill probably measure it out, but just trying to get the exact measures on here to save me the time

My Accent's intake tubing is 2.25" I think... I had measured it about a year ago, but can't recall now... it's probably bigger for the Tibby, so 2.5 " is prolly a good guess.
Have fun!

Awesome! you guys are quick as hell, ...im gonna go for the 2.5....two other questions though. 1. How much of an importance do the 2 sensors (MAFS and intake sensor I beleive) hold, and will I see the same gains without these sensors re-installed? or are they totally necessary? 2. What is the best cone filter by experience that you guys have used? thanks again guys

That should answer any other questions you might have while putting your RS together. As for filter, K&N is always a good way to go. And the sensors are a MUST. You won't run as well without them....or hardly at all without a MAFS.

The sensors are VERY important! As you can see from this picture you can leave the MAFS on, you really don't have to do anything with that, but you do have to drill a new hole for your Air Intake Sensor.

Thanks for the link, but I was wondering specifically if the two sensors are directly related to acheiving the gains from this intake, or can I just attach the intake without the sensors temporarily and see the exact same gains?..can anyone help me out with that one?
