I beleive that the rev limiter is a software issue that requires the ECM to be reprogammed.

There is a way to fool the ECM by disconnecting or shorting out a connector just don't remember how to do it

Not something you want to do. If you look at a dyno of a beta motor, there is no advantage to over-reving them.

unless you've had significant motor work done. Just shift.

The only reason i want to take off the rev limiter is so that when i use my nitrous i dont hit the rev limiter.i heard if you hit the rev limiter you can blow up your engine or do damage.

your engine blows with or without the rev limiter if you overdo it... the rev limiter is there so you can't reach that point.

It's really not that much safer to push your engine up into the redline (esp. while on nitrous) than it is to bounce off the limiter. It will still kill your engine, just not as fast tongue.gif

You're better off setting up your nitrous kit to cut the flow before you hit the rev limiter, there are accessories out there for that.

thats like saying you want to remove your airbags so that you don't have to replace them if you get in a car-reck.

MSD RPM activated Window switch.
It will automatically turn the nitrous on at a certian RPM and automatically shut it off at a certian RPM.

Costs about $100 from www.summitracing.com. I reccomend you have it shutoff at 6200 to be safe, what RPM you turn it on is up to you, but I would do it no lower that 2500 RPM.

Has anyone found out how to do this, its become an issue, since I switched over to the 2.5" Cat and Apexi N1, shes pulls hard right into 6700 RPM. Not one word of a lie, you can here the exhaust pulses start lining up at about 5500-5600 RPM and it makes that ricey whine, and it keeps pulling harder then before I did that dyno on the old 2" stuff. I don't plan on revving it over 7k as the lifters would start floating anyways, but I hate the sound it makes when I hit the rev limiter, and I just want to know if anyone found out the connectors to or remove etc...

Thanks,

-Steve
