Default Resonator and Air Duct

I have read in other posts that it was okay to take the resonator off but I was wondering if it was okay to take the air duct off and put the cone filter on maybe a few days later? Will having the open hole in the box cause any problems untill I get a cone filter?

As long as you leave the stock paper filter in the airbox you are fine. Do not put a cone filter on the stock airbox.

The stock airbox has holes in the bottom section that would allow unfiltered air to enter your engine.

If you do this, I found that I lost some top end hp.
It does sound a little better but I would rather have the power over the sound!

I did it this afternoon and it does sound great and my acceleration is a tiny bit quicker and I'm not to worried about top end hp because I drive in the city alot and I don't usally go faster than 65 or so, so the little lose is fine by me to get that great sound but I will definatly have to get a CAI now.
