Default Red, check this out !

Do you think that the Zex inline fuel pump is a good idea to upgrade my fuel system, I know that RX7 and Eclipse are better but I don't want to touch the stock one. I'm looking for a safe 65hp increase. wink

I personally do not care for inline / external fuel pumps when I can avoid it.

Spend the $20 and get a used Eclipse pump and have it done with. An Eclipse pump will flow about 40% more than ours does, and with a wet nitrous system you could probably feed a 100HP shot without issue.

There are safety concerns in routing, wiring and protecting outboard fuel pumps. In some cars, they are a necessity... Not ours.

For my turbo project, I bought a fuel pump from a 1996 Eclipse GSX turbo for $20 on ebay. Had to get the strainer (filter in the fuel pump) for another $14. $34 total for both and it should accommodate me for 6 psi of boost.

For a bit more, there are Walbro units that fit our cars, but they are considerably more. They are also in-tank designs. ~$90 to $120

No, it would do absolutely nothing. These cars run rich from the factory -- VERY rich from the factory. Increasing fuel delivery on a car with even N/A bolt-on parts is basically throwing away money (gas), fuel mileage AND horsepower.

I would say it wouldn't help, or hurt. The stock fuel pressure regulator will just flow the additional fuel back to the gas tank. In theory, it will hurt a tad, as pressurizing the gas, then flowing it back to the tank heats it up a tad, so you are heating the unused portion of fuel unecessarly...but it will no help or really hurt HP.

However...why spend money on parts you don't need. Unless you get damn lucky and come into one dirt cheap, wait until you need it.
