lately i've been having a wierd problem where my engine doesn't run as good as it should... i will start up and run it but once i shift into 2nd and put the accel back on it just revs and doesn't go unless i let go of the gas the slowly put it on..(((not just 2nd gear sometimes 3rd and 4th too))) or sometimes when i am about to go from a stop the gas will make my engine stall out??? like i put the gas on and the rpm's drop real low... i dont know if it is the whole clutch or if it is small smaller minor prblem

So when you shift into whatever gear and hit the gas, the tach moves but not the speedo? Sounds like your clutch is slipping. Might be time to replace it.

As far as the stalling I don't know if that's related to the clutch, but the other issue seems cut and dry.

yep... change your clutch... It's not that hard. I did that 3 times in 2 months because my buddy helping me kept improperly installing things. It's really not hard if you review the DIY guide about 3 times before you DIY. You've just got to have about 10-14 hours of time and a friend to help you with the bell housing.

there could be 2 possible problems:

1) clutch
2) loosen mufler belt

Sorry to post on an older topic, but just throwing a clutch at it doesn't sound like the sure fix for this problem.

Here, he said that the rpm's go waay up and the car does nothing, which sounds like a clutch-slipping issue.

But then he said this...

or sometimes when i am about to go from a stop the gas will make my engine stall out??? like i put the gas on and the rpm's drop real low

Sounds like the same problem I had when the tps went bad, which is apparently a pretty common problem with the DaeSung tps model. My symptom was when I stomped the gas, the rpm's dropped down very low, and sometimes it would cut the engine completely off.

Just something extra to think about before ripping the transmission off...
