Are the RD1 and RD2 center consoles the same size? If so, is it possible to switch my rd1 console (shift surround, boot, all that stuff) over to an rd2? The rd1 is an oddly shaped square, parallelogram I suppose, and the rd2 is a circle. pieces of mine are broken and i was wondering if its a possible conversion?

yes it's possible... many guys on here have switched out the whole interiors before... now I'm not sure if the shifter surround will match up to where your CD player and ashtray are though, without some modification. Looking at the pic though it looks as though it will be fine

 

Ahh. Ok. Because whoever took my car apart around me broke a clip off of the plastic piece that holds the shift boot down, and also on the side of the whole console there is a crack.

 

It'll fit but won't line up perfectly with the section around the ash-tray: the RD2 shifter surround is thicker & sits higher up...
