Default Random... CAI MAP question.

I have been waiting for the SR CAI, but I just read your post about it not working for a MAP based system. Ok... time for the next option.... What about the RS CAI. I have tried to search, but 1, there are a million RS posts, and 2 there aren't any with RS and MAP that help....
I know that the gains from a CAI are less noticable on a MAP system, then, say, on MAF... but the sensor.... will it mount the same, and work the same?

thanks ahead of time.

There is an SR CAI coming for MAP based Elantras and Tuscani's. It's about a month behind the SR intake for MAF Tibbies and MAF Elantras.

If you can't wait, I thought I posted the photos of the CAI I made for a 2001 Elantra (MAP). I'll try to dig them up...if not, Ill post them up, but I won't have a chance until thursday night.

ok, that's great news. I will surely get one.....
but until then, for autoXing, I would like a temp. solution. Enter your wonderful RS CAI. Back to the initial question, does/will the sensor mount the same, and work properly in the RS?

Casey hi...
I have made a RS Cai for my map based tibby and it works great. The only thing i did is to cut the original air tube at the position when it becomes spirral and after i followed Random´s instructions.Regarding the flowmeter i strapped it 1-2cms before the joining of the two hoses.Hope that helped a bit.I cant post pics.My PC is not working so well lately..

The Gen1 and Gen2 MAP based tiburons will be able to use the same MAP based CAI that the Tuscani's/Elantra's use.
