From kspec. "1.8L pistons with 2.0 Connecting Rods and XD gasket, 11.0:1 could be acheived."

Can I use 1.8 rods and pistons in a 2.0 liter to lower compresion to 8.5:1?

Are 1.8 rods shorter than 2.0 rods?

with 1.8 rod and 2.0 piston you should get aproximately 8.0:1 CR, but don't quote me.

If you tell me length of 1.8 rod (fom center-hole to center-hole) I will tell you what CR you will have

Sorry for being OT
Dmitry can you measure the length for custom rods with a 1.8 crank in a 2.0 engine with oem size pistons for 9.0, 10.3 and 11.5 cr?

With 2.0 crank in 2.0 block using shorter rod is like adding decompression plate.

Stock head gasket is 0.71 mm, stock 2.0 rod length is 146.1 (info was taken from wiseco site, and I'm not sure if they measured rod between centers of holes).

So based on the info I have on a 2.0 crank:
10.3:1 CR is with 146.1 mm rods
9.0:1 CR with 144.46 mm rods
11.5 CR with 147,25 mm rods.

I am not 100% sure about numbers I gave you. Also I do not know if it will be ok to use OEM pistons with longer rods, cause there might be problems with valves for example

If you decided to make custom rods guys in the shop can calculate your needs.

Also, using shorter rods it's not the best way to lower compression ratio, better use low comp pistons.
