Hi guys,
I need a new clutch, and was thinking to prepare for the future *hint hint..
I need a cluch to hold around 300hp, and be reasonably streetble.
I know that the ACT or ClutchMasters ones that are direct swap will hold that power.

1.Would I benefit from a push conversion other than the options for DSM clutches that come with it? the only reason I see is if i'll get boost hungry later, I'll have more options?

2.Will I still be able to use hyundai flywheels, or I'll need dsm flywheels too?

Let me know what you think. Thanks, Sasha.

If you are only going for 300whp, I would just stick with a Clutchmasters or Southbend clutch. The only real benefit from the push to pull conversion from what I can see is that you can run a DSM clutch to hold more power.

There is also a theoretical benefit with regards to main and throwout bearing service life if I recall correctly

If theres a chance youll want more power later (and you most likely will) I would do the conversion. You use RD flywheel still.

DSM clutch kits can be found cheaper a lot of times also because of the availability and theres always guys selling brand new kits they decide not to use.

Thanks for the replys guys!

Can you give me an example of a clutch I should you, given that conversion?
again, 300-350whp, drivability.
ebay or other links, as a referance would be very welcome!

or which car does it come from, so that i'll look for in their forums (eclipse/evo?)

Thanks again!

give act a call, I know on their site their clutches say 235 or 245 or something like that. The guy I talked to at their company was SUPER helpful even went over all the clutches they offer and helped me match what I wanted to their product line. He told me that he wouldn't hesitate to put their street clutch in a car with 300 whp even though their site claims only 235.

If your planning on going very far past 300 then I'd think the swap is for you.

if you're running a t3 on a low compression engine (about 300hp)then the act pull will work for you and you'll save some $$ in the process
if you have a goal of 300Whp or more, then go push type

they gray zone is between 300hp and 300 WHP,for some the act wil lhold, for other it won't
it depends on the driving style, and how the car grips

I like to drive it like it sould be driven... not to be looked at.
and have a Quaiffe LSD. That what I think kills my stock clutch preety fast with not so much additional power...
