Power/Speed chips
i cant even believe anyone actually remembers that stuff from chemistry... i certainly dont... of course i never took chemistry, i opted out and took Physics and Advanced Math... of course i also opted out of Auto Shop and took metal shop....
i am still kicking myself over that one.... sure i can weld like a bastard but i would rather learn about putting a turbo or something in a car so i can do it when my god damn Garrett T1 needs installing

Yes, there are real "Powerchips" out there, they are usually more expensive than it's worth and only good for the mods you currently have. If you get new mods or change stuff out, you gotta get it re programmed.
Worst off most of them for the Tib and Elantra require you to send in your ECU, so you don't get to drive for a couple of weeks.

redz, the theory behind these "chips" works. leaner conditions will give you more power, rich conditions will actually give you less power. these chips make the ecu think LESS air or WARMER air is going to the engine, which makes the ecu think less fuel is needed. less fuel will give you lean conditions, which will give you a higher EGT(exhaust gas temp.). a higher EGT will give you higher exhaust gas velocity, which will give you more power. the problem with a higher EGT is that the extra heat can cause holes in your pistons, which lead to hot spots that can eventually kill your engine. to much fuel will do nothing more than keep your engine a little cooler, decrease your gas mileage, and crap out your emissions.
yeah, i requested the money to be credited and the guy got ALL pissy....
i have a feeling he's had his share of negative reports on these chips - and knows damn well he's runnin' a scam
damn cocktard

My god mang, listen to me! Or at least check the auctions!
They don't make the ECU think there is LESS or WARMER air going into the engine, they are supposed to make them think that there is COLDER or DENSER air going into the engine.

The HorsePower Performance Booster replaces the sensor that tells your vehicles computer how much cold air it is taking in, this in turn will alter your fuel and timing curves, The HorsePower Performance Booster adjusts your fuel and air ratio to run more efficient , Your Computer will respond to the Performance Booster's reading with increased horse power (With a Full Potential of 20hp) This Performance Mod will allow you to boost the power output of your vehicles engine, without sacrificing reliability or comfort. This is the same technique that expensive performance chips accomplish but the HorsePower Performance Booster will allow you to replace the sensor instead of having to remove your vehicles computer, the cost is substantially lower but the end results are the same. By Tricking your vehicles computer it will make it think it is under heavier load and increase your horsepower

By fooling your computer and letting it think that you are sucking air at a different temperature. Your computer will respond with increased power!

What is this Device?
IT is a resistor chip that gives out a constant reading of air temperature to your ECU.

2. What "EXACTLY" does this do??

This mod will modify your stock ECU with a Timing Advance resistor. This resistor connects to the car's ECU by replacing the Intake Airflow Temperature (IAT) Sensor. Once the resistor is installed, the ECU will read that the air coming in through the intake is cold air; think of it as a "default" setting on the ECU. When the ECU reads this, it lean out the air/fuel mixture-in other words, it will take in more air, and then add more fuel to compensate for the extra air coming in, thus, producing more power and advancing timing 1 to 2 degrees. Because the engine is creating more power, it will need more fuel; so the fuel economy on the car will decrease 1 to 2 miles per gallon (MPG), but definitely not more than 2 MPG.

Once this is installed the ECU will read the air coming through as colder than it really is. After reading this, it leans out the air/fuel ratio, meaning it will take in more air and then add more fuel to compensate for the extra air coming in, thus, creating more HP and advancing your timing 1 to 2 degrees
Sorry bro, not one of them says anything about warmer air. Most of them say something about a CONSTANT air temerature, but that's not even true. The FACT is if you do some searching on HP and HA.com, or even on Google, you'll see what these chips are all about. Someone trying to make quick money. If they had ANY gains at all, most of us would probably use them, but they don't. The theory doesn't work behind them and they will hurt your engine in the long run, if not your MPG.
There's been enough on this guys, consider this LOCKED.
