If you own a power pulley set (water + PS I believe) or have seen your OEM pulleys, this is for you.

I just received my set from Shark Racing (yeah yeah, I know)

The underdrive and the larger pulley(PS) are grooved ribbed and flat whereas the smallest pulley (water) is V shape grooved and smooth. Is this normal?

I haven't taken my pulleys off, so I'm not sure if it is. Thanks in advance.

What do you mean the underdrive pulley?

There's no such thing. You can have a pulley that UNDERDRIVE's things, that means that it's smaller than stock size.

The pulleys you got should be the Power Steering, the Waterpump pulley (Maybe the secondary waterpump pulley), and the crank pulley.

From what you are saying though, it should be good. It came with a new belt too right?

Also, can you do me a few favors?

1. Take pics of the pulleys so we can see which they are and what belt they fit?

2. Take pics of the mounting holes, I need to know if they are splined or not.

Don't know why I said underdrive. I was thinking underdrive crank while I typed and forgot the crank.

Yes, it came with two belts.

What's strange is that the PS and crank pulley are branded GIM and are nicely colored and finished. The Water Pump pulley is just plain silver aluminium.

None of the holes are splined me thinks. I'll try and get you those pics though. Stop asking me for favors Redz. flirt.gif

dude... you have the gayest avatar ever...

Why did you switch it... that chick was fine.

Anyways..

The "spline" type pulleys are beta II pulleys. They fit... just have to make sure you switch both pulleys.

We know this.

But the 1998 and 97 seem to NOT have splines.

Not to mention, the Beta 2 pullies mean you have to swap to ribbed belts, and you need the waterpump sub pulley to do that.

Im aware of that...

DAng.. now i regret not taking pics of all the junk i had.

I forgot which year engine i had that had a hole about half an inch from the center in the pulley (for centering). The one i currently have has a spline, and the beta II had a spline.

If you guys get complicated and start switching water pumps, i recommend you try and stick with the earlier ones. Those water pumps have metal fins... the newer ones are made out of plastic.
