Why does the TB have to hoses connected on the bottom underneath the butterfly. One is entrance with coolant and one probably an exit. Is this to warm the TB? or is it to cool becasue the coolant wouldn't be cool enough to cool the TB when it passes through the head and heats up.

Mad-Machine 08-08-2005 06:00 PM

they are there to warm it in cold weather to prevent freezing.

tanc 08-08-2005 06:01 PM

Well wouldn't warm it year round? Getting it much warmer during the summer weather?

tanc, do you live under a rock? wink1.gif

I just don't understand the theory behind warming the TB during the summer.

That is why everyone does the TB Bypass mod. it cools the air charge. give you maybe a 1/2hp but you know every little bit helps.

brian01tib 08-08-2005 06:25 PM

yea its easy to do a bypass, but if you are in sub zero weather conastantly keep it on because you dont want your tb stuck and you have plenty cool air comming through lmao.gif

Anyone have a link to this mod?

A quick search using "bypass" under the DIY section came up with this. fing02.gif
