Pop from muffler

Pop from muffler
Just yesterday when I started my car I heard a pop from the rear of the car, I thought it was just something out side but when I started it up about an hour later I heard the pop again so I shut the car off and started again and I definately heard a pop noise coming from the muffler. It did not happen today though. Any body know what it might have been, is it something I should get checked or just keep my eye on.

Seriously, is your exhaust still factory?
Is the car still under warranty?
Either way it should not back fire. If the car still is under warranty and you have not messed with the exhaust then take it by the dealer and have them look at it. If you have changed the exhaust take it to the shop that did the work.

The exhaust is still factory (No money for new exhaust yet, just put in my new stereo) and I'm bringing it to the dealer on tuesday because it did it to me once again this evening. The pop is a soft pop it's not very loud so I don't think it was a backfire but then again I've never had a car backfire on me so I could be wrong.

With as muffled as the Tiburon exhaust is, It is entirely possible U R backfiring, and it only sounds like a "pop".
Before you take it into the dealer, you need to be able to reproduce it at will. Otherwise they may say nothing's wrong.
Things to check.
#1. R U Stepping on the accelerator as you start, or before you start the car. On all fuel injected cars, you should not touch the gas pedal to start the car. If you are doing so you may be adding gas before the start up leading to the backfire.
#2. Hole in exhaust system. On the inital exhaust pulse, it may "pop" out the hole, but once the car is running, the sound coming out of the hole would be more of a 'droneing' sound, so you wouldn't really notice it.
There's also a host of other things that could lead to this problem, but most of them are performance related, and as you did not complain about any performance related issues, so I'm leaving them out of it..
