I need cams for my Pony. Short of re-grinding cams, my friend suggested we retard the timing 2-4 degrees. Otherwise, does anyone know if X1 excel 1.5 cams will fit a Pony? Any other suggestions, like increasing lift by modifying the rockers?

Your best bet for "Pony" advice is RPW or HVE. The might have some parts for ya. Heck ya might even get them cheap, since they are not doing HVE/RPW any good collecting dust all these years.

Do a search for Piper Cams...they're the ones who did the set for my old foreman's Pony, only problem is man, you need a higher carb stack and a matched intake plenium to give you better flow velocity...those things were lumpy enough to knock an elephant out man!
