Default polishing hot plate

hey, i wanted to just get headers, but money is real tight for me right now, so i was thinking that i could polish my hot plate and at least make it look good. i prefer to do it myself and dont mind working hard to get it to look good. What is the best way for me to do this? I would rather not paint it or get it crome dipped, but i do want it to shine. Thanks for any help in advance.....later

I don think you anything you put on there will stay its true color. Only thing that will would be a powder coat.

You can take a polishing wheel to it and make it look like brushed aluminum or powder coat it. That heat treated paint will eventually turn color and peel.
