Really depends on the type of plug and wire. You really can't tell if the plugs are going bad unless your gas mileage starts going down or you get a CEL for a misfire. I changed my Mom's spark plugs yesterday for the first time in 100,000 miles... and three of them (4-cylinder) were in actually good shape. One was completely fried however. I change mine like every 25k, or if I run into problems.

Wires you can see the electricity if you turn off the lights and start the car where they're isn't a good connection. They usually last a little longer than plugs... prob like 50k miles.

I tend to change my plugs about every 20-25k miles. As for the pulg wires usually only when I notice something is not right.

I do the every other method. Plugs every 20 to 25 thousand and the wires every other plug change.

Well, to start, the OEM wires Hyundai uses in cour cars are not very good neither at durability nor conductivity. There are other cars that don't change their wires in very long periods, as for my own experience, I can't get more than 60,000 Km per wire set. After the thirdone I got tired and bought a set of 8,5mm Magnecor wires, now the car idles like a champ, don't ever have misfires and they are suposed to last a loooooooooot.
As for sparkplugs, I change them every 10,000 Km, which is how often the service manual at the dealer recomends the change; however most times they are in really good shape. Performancewise, you shouldn't keep them more than 10k miles so you ge most out of them.

Spark plugs are recommended to last a very long time before you start having problems. I just changed my Mom's on Saturday for the first time in 75,000 miles.... and those NGKs were still in near perfect shape. Never knew they were that good.

If your running coppers, I would change them every 15,000 miles for optimum performance out of them. If you run Iridiums/platinums, you cold probably go longer.

I had mine for 25,000 miles before I changed it. The milage was not the reason why I changed them however, it was because they were almost 4years old (I just changed them 2 months ago).

Coppers yeah, max is like 30000KM's or like 20000miles
With Iridium and Plats you can go like a max of 100000km's or like 62000miles

I have had NGK Plats in mine for oh god, quite a while now, since like 20000Km's? I think I have about 85000Km's on there now, so I guess soon, maybe next summer, unless I got nutz with the roadtrips this summer smile.gif
