Thumbs up Platinum Spark Plugs

So I'm curious as to what people think about Platinum plugs. I've never used them in any of my vehicles. I generally get NGK's, but have been thinking more and more about using a better performance style Platinum. They're generally 3-4 times more expensive then regular plugs, but if people think they're better over all....I'll probably switch.

i use bosch platinum and if there is a differrance i cant feel it. 2002 1.5l lc stock engine with cai, highflow muffler.

-im not knocking platinum plugs, it may be that you dont see the differance until you actually build the motor to utilize the extra spark.
or that the hp gains are so small you cant feel it. if this is the case its still worth it if your gonna add up a bunch of little tweeks and get an extra 15-20hp.

If you're using the stock ignition system and the vehicle specifies copper from the factory, use copper. If vehicle specifies platinum, use platinum. If you end up putting platinum into a stock-copper vehicle, you won't hurt anything but the only 'gain' will be that you'll theoretically be able to have longer intervals between tuneup plug changes.

i put pulstar plugs in the sonata and gained 14 hp to the rear wheels. plus my car does this sweet tire-spinning thing whenever i push the gas. i did put the "Enerpulse" sticker that came with them on the fender, that alone gives me 5 hp..

I have used platinum plugs in my car since owning it and have never seen any dramatic increases in power. Its just peace of mind knowing Im putting a better plug in it.

Sounds about right. NGK makes excellent products, but like I said earlier unless the SOURCE of ignition is upgraded - all you're doing by upgrading the plugs and wires is allowing that factory-strength spark to have the best chance at getting into the combustion chamber. Benefits of upgrading before the stock wires/plugs are actually 'bad' could include smoother idle and a bit better fuel economy. Spend your money wisely kids!
