Default plasma booster???

there's this new product out i saw profiled in sport compact car. if i can find the link, i'll post it. it's called the plasma booster. basically, it's a little black box with a few wires coming out of it. you tap it into the negative terminal on the coilpack, then ground it somewhere. it's *supposed* to give you 100% more spark energy, and four times the spark amperage. it's only like $300. has anyone heard of this or had any experience with it? what are your thoughts? mine are that it's just another riceboy product with some good hype that scc profiled because they got paid enough. however, they said they are going to put it on their project is300 and dyno it. i'd like to be optimistic, but you know how many s**t products there are.

if I saw them explain how it is hooked up. I could make a better guess.

My guess is. Its a fancy grounding system.

But I am not sure if that is correct.

Being it sends no extra grounding wires to the battery on the coil over system.

Maybe its just does noise cancelation?

Here is more about it
http://www.ignitionsolutions.com/products/...s/booster.shtml

It basically sacrafices inital spark intensity for multiple sparks. For a application, with a weak stock ignition system, or poor combustion chamber design, this might be a benefit.

But you'd get the same benefit from an MSD DIS-2 or DIS-2 HO for the same money, but the MSD DIS-2 INCREASES inital spark voltage and also has the trailing residual sparks.

Anything with a name as cool as "Plasma Booster" is something I want on my car.

thanks, random. i thought that if this product had any merit, it was that it's basically another msd-dis type unit.

what is funny, is that they claim higher initial spark voltage, but if you look at the graphs they have, the stock unit puts out 13.67kV peak, but their Plazma booster puts out only 12.28 kV.

Strange...that seems like LESS voltage to me!

so random, is it better to have a larger initial spark and smaller residual/multiple sparks, or a smaller initial spark and larger multiple sparks?
