Default piston to valve clearance?

Lets say you have a Beta 2.0 with 1.8 pistons and the cylinder head is shaved 0.040

The camshafts are stock Beta 1 exhaust cams (2). Beta 2 head gasket.

Will the pistons hit the valves?

It's gonna be pretty close but I think it would clear. There's one way to find out for sure: http://www.plastigaugeusa.com/

I'm pretty sure this has been done. Possibly some of our members from Puerto Rico will have direct knowledge. If they would share.

I figured it would fit, just wanted to ask first. I'll use clay to measure the clearance.

I'm going to pull the head next week and install the Beta 2 head. I decided to re-ring it at the same time. While ordering parts I found a good deal on pistons. I bought brand new oem 1.8 pistons for $10.32 each!!!
