A Pipe (2002 Elantra)
I took my Elantra to the dealer yesterday for a recall, a hood latch, and an inspection. Everything is cherry other than the A Pipe. I need to replace my A Pipe, but I am also planning to buy a header soon, and it would really irritating for an unemployed Elantrapreneur like myself would have to buy a new A Pipe then buy aftermarket stuff. My idea is to try to take out the A Pipe, buy a useable A Pipe on eBay, Craigslist, or from one of you fine folks/shisters, install it, pass inspection. But my dad brought up the problem of rust.
-Do you think I could find an A Pipe, or should I go out and buy one?
-Do you think the pipe would be too rusty to fix one part without damaging others?
-Are there aftermarket headers that add power and will pass inspection?
Details:
I live in Pennsylvania, my car is a 2002 Elantra GLS.

P.S. If anyone has an A Pipe in good condition they would be willing to sell, send me a message. My car has 123,000 miles. Should I just replace the whole thing? Can I do it myself?
