This will probably be the dumbest thread I ever post.

My oil cap is stuck on. I have the completely round r-side oil cap (worst design ever) that is difficult enough to take off when its not stuck on there. I'm low on oil and my oil pressure recently shot up, and now somehow the thing has fused itself to the valve cover. I'm trying to think of a creative way to get it off there. I tried 3 different times to unscrew it but it wouldn't budge.

I had the same problem with the 97, same oil cap too. Take a rag and put it over it, then take either a pair of channel locks or vice grips and grab on the center piece of the oil cap. That should give you enough leverage to turn it. The rag is there to keep you from scratching your oil cap. wink1.gif

Awesome, I had a similar idea but this one is better. I'm gonna replace it though cause I have to kill myself everytime I take it off anyway. I'll give this a shot after work. Thanks!

hmm thats also a good idea, the silicone pot holder. I'll try that first cause I have one in my kitchen.

I was thinking the same thing. If that doesn't work maybe some oil filter pliers on top of the jar opener.

Happened to me a long time ago and I cracked it a bit but it came of. Had to use a rag. I plan on gettin the beta 2 cover and system oil cap even though the design on that cap looks like it would be hard to get off also. That's not the same one your talking about is it?

gasket leak more than likely liz. I had a leak about a month ago, had the same problem. changed the head cover gasket after a goo cleaning of the cover and no more problems.
