Hey guys. Just wondering how much oil your Tiburon is burning. I blame the oil burning in my car on the first owner because I drive very softly.

I lose about a quart every 3,000-4,000 miles on the highway and 1/4 quart every 4,000 miles in the city. I think the high 5th gear is killing the engine on the highway. I've been told that it is normal for an engine with over 120,000 miles to burn that much oil.

I've used many oils on the market and all of them burn at the same rate; now I'm just sticking with Castrol 7.5w25 Synthetic oil. My engine is still quick and quiet and my transmission is still shifting smoootthly thanks to Synthetics.

never have burned any oil, unless you include when i was burning in thru my exhaust, leaking it thru turbo seals, and leaking thru my oil pan where i stripped a bolt, and it burnt on the downpipe..

I burn 1/2 quart every oil change. Hyundai says up to 1 quart is ok. My engine overheated once and there's not much that can be done about it because they don't want to replace an engine.

I cant stand burning oil, to me it make me feel bad.i would say about 1/2 a cup..when i was driving her hard. but my turbo return line would drip after a hard run.. so i am not 100% sure that i was burning oil anyway.. in most cases with our cars it the valve seals then the rings... do you have anyother leaks fix all leaks and replace all seals first then do the rings last that is what i would do

Use Auto-RX and your oil burning will most likely stop completely.

Go to www.auto-rx.com

Try the product and post with feedback. Good luck!

Im on par with you.

I've got 197,000km's (122000 Miles) on the clock. Runs great apart from a little bit of an oil problem.
