I have a '97 1.8 with new: fuel pump, fuel filter, injectors, CPS, plugs and wires. It had a terrible problem running last year and took it off the road. I've slowly fixed/replaced things (injectors were FULL of mud so I redid most of the fuel system!)

Now it starts up and idles nice and I can rev it up nice but the first moment I rev it, it stumbles and clears itself up. I can rev it up after it stubles, let it settle down and rev it up with another stumble.

If I let it idle a minute, it'll stumble again just off-idle. If I was in gear and tried to drive off, it'd almost stall unless I reved it up and rode the clutch a bit.

BTW, No CELs even with the fuel injectors clogged with crap and it running terribly.

Cool. I'm gonna check my plug gap as well.

I'm going to pick up a can of Seafoam tonight and get some good, new gas in the tank.

Are you sure that your MAF is oriented in the right direction?

It's never been off since I owned it. How can I know for sure?

There's an arrow on the MAF indicating proper direction.

I'd definatly check your plug gap. I'd also check for vacuum leaks. Do you have a CEL?

Sounds like the usual culprit, the TPS. Test it.
