Actually if you read this tread you'll see that you can trick your sensors with an $20.00 02 Simulator if you don't have a cat and it's even suggested that you can just unplug it since it's not necesary to the performance of the car, but what I wanted to know is for those who unpluged the 2nd sensor did the CEL still come on. I'll be able to tell you on Monday since I unpluged mine last night and the CEL didn't come on yet. If it comes on I'll get that 02 simulator, we're having a huge car show in Moncton NB, Canada this weekend and I'll probably have more on the subject after talking to some guys who I'm sure had the same situation.

You'll get the CEL if you unplug the second sensor. I was just letting you know that it will not hamper your performance or milage if you need time to come up with a perminent solution. I would strongly recomned getting rid of the test pipe that came with your set up and just putting in a hight flow cat. I cant' see the very minor performance gain that you get from going without the cat being worth all of the extras polution that you will be making.

Now there's a good idea... I never though of looking for a replacement cat since the original one was at the front of the engine just under the OEM header. Now I just have to find a High flow cat. I did a search on Ebaymotors and found all kinds for Honda and others but nothing specific to Tiburon but they would probably work anyway, right ? This look just like the Test Race cat I have on now...

that looks like a straight through test pipe. i would email the guy and make sure it actually has catacombs(sp?) in it. measure the dimensions of your system though, and then make sure they line up with this.

Yeah, that is just a straight pipe. I would look for a CatCo high flow.

I dunno Java, Random has warned me away from the CatCo ones, said they are not worth the money at all.

I was planning on going with this one:

Great price, high feed back rating on seller, and I've heard good things about Magnaflow/Carsound cats.

I see, so the High flow cat are the same as the test Race cat, but the other one "MAGNAFLOW HI FLOW UNIVERSAL CONVERTER 94105 " is the real thing. Now I had my car tested for exhaust emmision and it past wink.gif our province emmesion test with no cat, so if I wanted to I could just get the 02 sensor simulator and that would fix the CEL situation. But being so enviromentaly concern I'll look into the MAGNAFLOW cat.

Thanks for all the input guys.
