Don't get complicated before you need to! If the car is slower on the same track under similar weather conditions after you change X then suspect X before you suspect Y!

I'll tell you the problem straight away. The final drive ratio is shorter on on the 1.8. So, that's why you are getting a flat spot in third gear.

 

How did we get from a cam shaft to a final drive ratio?

The 1.8 engine has a different response curve which is matched by it's gearing. By installing a rougher cam, you lose bottom end torque in the rpm range. That is why I mentioned gearing. The 2litre has a longer final drive ratio as it has a smoother cam and more torque down low.

 

well, get the 1.8 ecu. make sure its the right one.

 

So mrrock, what do u suggest? To put my 2.0 cam back or as lilo shark said to get 1.8 ecu? I think it's better to chip it than to put 1.8 ecu...
