Nology Hotwires
I have a quick question. There are some Nology Hotwire spark plug wires that I want to purchase for my 2000 hyundia elantra. Can someone please tell me if they will work with the beta engine. On nopi they say that they are for the 1.6L and the 1.8L. Even though the beta engine is a 2.0L, will the wires still work. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nology Hotwires = sh!t, end of story.
If you want good wires for $80, buy a set of Magnecor KV85's and be done with it PERMANENTLY. Spark plug wires do not provide more spark. They do not make more horespower. Capacitive discharge built INTO a plug wire is a FLAW and not a feature. Lesser resistance is NOT a performance mod.
KV85. Done.

One other point I should bring up. The wires do not fit.
I bought a set 2 years ago. When I tried to install them the "shortest" wire was about 8" too long. When I called nology back to complain, the informed me that the wires MUST be that length or their fancy schmancy Gizmo doesn't work.
I asked them, but you said these wires would fit my car, they don't! They told me to deal with it.
They would NOT do a return/refund. I reported them to the BBB of LA City, LA County, Orange County, and the BBB of the State of California.

The concept of NOLOGY wires is good, and they will show performance gains if your engine is tuned for them.
Unforunately, the claim of plugging them in and getting more power is false. The NOLOGY wires act to retard the timing. During the time the capacitive charge is building up in them, your piston is still travelling towards TDC. When the charge reaches a certain KV in the wire itself, it discharges in a sudden burst of electrons greating a much more brilliant, wider spark.
However, the spark is occuring several hundred nano seconds after where it should have been, meaning lost power. If the timing were advanced properly there will be a better burning/ignition of the charge due to a larger, wider simeoutanoues explosion, but the duration of the spark will be several hundred times less.
On a theoretical basis, the wires are great, which is probably why Random and others bought them in the first place. Unfortunately, theres alot more to it then plug and play.
