Default no o2 sensor and 4-2-1 headers

Hallo there people,

So i was reading up on the net on how to test and clean yer o2 sensor, so i figured i'd give it a go, seemed easy enough, just needed a multimeter, some heat and a metal brush. HOWEVER when took the heat shield off of the manifold, i noticed that my headers are 4-2-1 headers and that there is no 0o sensor attached to it. Now i know because of the less restrictive emissions laws here, we can have only 1 which is in the header, but nothing is there, i'll post some pix later, gf has my digicam.

In the mean while, can someone tell me if they've encountered a similar thing or did Hyundai shaft me? smile.gif

Thanks...

the O2 sensor is not up near the block, it's down closer to the ground where all the pipes converge into 1

I'm sorry, I'm a little confused...the exhaust manifold(header) has no O2 sensor??? or no plug??? These are after market headers???? I'm trying to figure out if you are missing the entire O2 sensor or just that there is no plug on the header (on the collector). However if you had no O2 sensor didn't you notice your "check engine" light on??????

I'm pretty sure they meant they couldn't find the O2 sensor on the EXHAUST MANIFOLD (which is different than headers). Exhaust manifold is the stock setup. Pretty sure that's what they have since they said they took off the "HOT" plate. As said, the O2 sensor is lower, towards the bottom of the bay. smile.gif
