New engine...
Shouldn't be. Everyone has told me the ECU's are interchangable. I am guessing the manual should mount up right where the auto would be with a little work, but I am not certain. There will probably be a little bit of fabrication there.
drive shafts for A/T and M/T can be different.
But if you are changing engine without transmition - it should be ok.
BTW. drive shaft from Lantra 1997 1.8 M/T ABS doesn't fit Tiburon 1997 2.0 M/T ABS.

the only thing i could think of is why not just find a 2nd gen motor? I guess it makes sense if you've already got the 1st gen. but there were improvements to the 2nd gen. motor over the first.
but other than that everything should be find. from outside they are really pretty much the same.smile.gif
