Default New clutch in near future

Ok so ive got my turbo kit on the car, just needs the tuning from the dyno shop and im good to go. Im going to get a higher performance clutch soon after i get every aspect of the turbo done, tuning is just about all i have left. So what clutches do you all recommend, i was browsing through hp.com store and saw a few choices. Any recommendations? Thanks in advanced.

I, personally, would stay away from Spec Clutches. A 4-puck ACT clutch would probably be perfect for you.

For the most part everyone around here recommends the VHR clutch system from Real-Engineering. It comes with the clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, and lightened flywheel. The regular system is a stage 2.5 and stands up to about 350 hp. I have one of these I am going to be installing soon. There are quite a few people around here who have these and love them. Hopefully they will post up with their 2 cents too.

www.kspec.com sells the VHR series too. They do not come with a throwout bearing though.

It's a great clutch, not heard one issue. And the same company makes the OEM clutch.

When you do a clutch upgrade, your going to probably need a new flywheel as well unless your car is really new. If I'm not mistaken, the KSpec clutches come with a flywheel. So the price is actually good. If not, well then they are expensive. tongue.gif

They are, but read the contents.

Clutch = 350 HP rating.

Lightweight FORGED Flywheel = $350 to $450 bucks elsewhere by itself.

1000KG Pressure Plate = Not included in most clutch kits for us.

And I know for a fact, the entire assy, including packing materials weighs 26 pounds.

MUCH lighter.

you are definatly getting the most bang for your buck.. and in places like the clutch, it is best to put the best in. This is a job NOBODY wants to do twice.
