OK guys, this is my last bit of hope if I don't get this fixed, the fate of my Tibby will have to be decided! PLEASE HELP!! The Problem: Basically my Tib will not idle, put simply anyways. In order to get my Tib started I have to push on the gas, once I let off the pedal, she'll idle for a bit then just die! The other problem associated with this is when I do get it started, and push on the gas pedal very quickly in a tapping motion, I can mimick the dying out immediatly after my foot does not have any pressure on the gas pedal. And the crazy thing is that my RPM needle goes haywire while doing this..it is all over the range. My tib has been out since Oct. with this problem. Also, when I actually do get it started and drive it...sometimes it feels very bogged down...then all of a sudden I get a quick jump...don't have any idea what the hell the problem is. I have had the SAFC-II installed since January of '03 then got this problem in Oct. I completly removed the SAFC to eliminate possible sources of this problem, but still have it. Both Hyundai dealers here in Albq. don't know what it is, I have had the TPS replaced, MAF Sensor replaced, Idle Speed Actuator replaced, Crank Position Sensor replaced, Fuel Pressure Regulator Relay replaced, Pre-Excitation Resistor replaced, and finally a new/used ECM has even been swapped, all with no different result...IT'S STILL DOING IT!!!

Please let me know if u have any ideas....this has cost me alot of money to try to diagnose.....I AM VERY FRUSTRATED!!!

Your help is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Cisco C.

Check your plugs and wires, that is more than likely the cause.

Heya Cyscoo, it's good to see you here mang.

I can help out a bit as I've been workin with him on it...

Wires and plugs have been replaced.

He's run injector cleaner thru the engine.

His car has LOTS of miles, but he just finished rebuilding the engine last year, and did a good job of it.

The fuel filter, good idea, I don't remember if I asked him that or not. Both of the dealers have sorta given up on his car and are hoping he doesn't bring it back in. LOL It sucks.

How would the 02 sensors do that?

Well, I guess it could be just about anything.
