I have pass the last days looking for the ratios of the different Hyundai tranny ratios because I'm thinking in swapping the tranny from my X3 to a Beta II, this is what I found. The thing is that I know that there are error in it, if some one can give me a better list or fix this one I will really appreciate it.

not being a dick and just telling you to search, but there was a thread a little while back where someone looked into this stuff a whole bunch cause they were looking at swapping final gears and such to build a better tranny. I honestly forget who it was, but I know its hidden here somewhere.

p.s. woot 800th post

I did search!!!!

the sites search dose not work well and that was the best I could find else were but I don't trust it. For example it says that the 95-96 X3 comes with a 3.94 FD but I have open a few of them from years 95-99 (SOHC) and thay all are 3.84.

Yes, the search sucks, but it DOES work.

Most of the time it is WHAT you are searching for.

Try to start with a very specific search, then broaden it out if you don't find anything.

For example.

"Transmission gear ratios listing"

Nothing.

Then...

"gear ratios"

Then

"gear ratio"

or

"tranny ratio"

or

"transmission ratios"

You can also clean up a search by going to the ADVANCED SEARCH and searching...

Topic titles only.

And "Show Posts" which will show only the posts with the word you are looking at.

We get a lot of new users that come in and will search for something like...

"i want to no wut geer ratioz are for all hyundaez".

Another think most people dont know is if you put what you want in quotes it will search for the phrase

Ex:

transmission ratio's

It searches for the word transmission and the ratio's anywhere in a post... so anytime someone says SHANANAGENS, im sorry transmission it will pop up same with ratio's.

"Transmission ratio's"

in quotes it will look for that string of works together. Much more effective.

Sometimes i think IBP just changed their search to see how smart we all are...lol.

So now that you have some guidance have you found what you are looking for?

The info I posted is from my searches specifically hmaservice, the thing is can it be trusted on the ratios for Beta trannys, because on the Alpha it can't. I don't what to spend $600 on a tranny to get specific ratios and when I get it open not to be what I was looking for.

I need a tranny that I can get a good LSD for it. That's why I won't stay with the Alpha, and now I have the problem that I can't install the megan header with it.

I'm thinking in acceleration for drag so wish do you people recommend one from the 2007-2009 elantra with 4.188 FGR or one from a 2002-2003 elantra with 4.056 FGR but higher gear ratios? (http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?showtopic=29238)

BTW correct me if I'm wrong but they both or push type?
