It is. For someone who cares a little about efficiency, looking at a piece of casting flash on the short radius of the intake port was painful. Also, all those CORNERS in the chambers and all full of carbon, and knowing it was probably like that in MY car. . .

Sitting. crying.gif

Waiting for funds, need to get a set of intake valves,
fit them to their seats, leak test them,
then more funds to have the deck machined, get a gasket set (intake/exhaust/head + valve stem seals),
redress the Singh grooves & it's ready to install.

Then

Need more funds for a set of main bearings and piston rings
Need to get a set of 2.0L connecting rods, balance them - (I have a killer scale at work for this, 0.5g resolution)
Balance pistons
Fit pistons to rods (probably more funds, to have Performance Machine in Hutto do this too), doublecheck balance
Need more funds for oil

THEN

I'll probably make an engine stand, pull the engine, rering the 1.8L pistons & install them, new stock-sized bearings, install the head. By the time all this is paid for it will probably also be

Need more funds for another timing belt sigh.gif
On the bright side, changing the timing belt when the engine is on the stand should be a breeze! laugh.gif

haha, waiting for somebody anyhow eh. Now's the time, since I just got a couple $ in my paypal a few days ago and they don't tend to stay long. If you pad the big ends and keep the rods from smashing each other, I wonder if it would fit in a flat rate USPS box?

Aren't the pistons aluminum? You can recycle it if it makes you feel better. Plus, if you get a clean cut, you can post first-ever cross-section pictures online. Well, first cross-sections not caused by detonation anyway wink1.gif I was going to suggest trashing the pistons but I didn't want to give you any ideas haha. Try to get an estimate on shipping both ways and if it's just a couple ducks difference, I might just say leave them on.
