It's the fork release bushings. there's a TSB on it at webtech. Under warranty they will replace them.

Sounds like a dieing veal.
Well I had the same problem with mine PLUS it leaked clutch fluid so I bought one from TC.
Opened TC's up cleaned it than greased it. It's like a little piston inside there with a spring. Hard to remember, it was last year. Just take it out, open it up, clean it and than grease it good.
You can see it here, I painted it so it doesn't rust, and I only had yellow.

DrivingTibNaked might be right aswell, there were a couple people here before having problems with that particular bushing.

Friggin' A. Since I'm not a very good Mechanic.. i'm going to see if spraying Silicon over it will work.. if not.. then I'll have to find somebody that knows how to take it out so I can grease the internals.
if those don't work. I'm going to visit the Hyundai dealer and have them install the bushings.. anybody know how much it would cost?

I have the EXACT SAME NOISE coming from my car!!!!!!!! same with you, only after driving for a while will it get really loud like that. it's embarrasing as all hell too. i'm thinking its the TSB too now, my car was built November 16, 2000. so mine would be a qualified candidate for the TSB. i've got the extended 100,000 mile powertrain warranty so i think they cover it. what you could do, is if you need a new clutch too, you could tell them that while they're in there to drop in a new clutch for you, all you should pay for is parts.
edit... that's assuming that they have to crack open the tranny to get to it. i don't quite know where those bushings are.

^^^ that's what I did when i brought my vehical in. I bought a cheap OEM clutch on EBAY for $99. they charged me $25 for install since they already had it open it was minimal extra work.

Hyundai gaurantees OEM clutches installed by H service techs for 1 year/10,000 miles. you won't get that and may risk voiding a warranty on certain parts if you install a firmer gripping clutch.
