Default Muffler recommendations?

I am putting a 2" catback exhaust on my '02 Lanos. What kind of mufflers should I look into? I want a deep tone compared to a high pitched go kart noise.

Also, should I keep my Cat and Resonator? From what i know the resonator will keep out more higher pitched tones?

I found mufflers are the hardest thing to buy.

You dont know how they sound till they are on your car. And they can sound one way on your tiburon and another on your friends tiburon depending on mods.

Good luck? And I hope you get the one you like smile.gif

As for my brand, I am going to try a brullen

Try finding one that you like the sound of, then ask the owner what they have, but remember you get what you pay for, cheap mufflers sound cheap.

i've a MagnaFLow street series too,

first, i've just remplacer the silencer (stock line)
the sound was like an original exhaust!

i've removed the OEM Cat and put a Accent GT headers and now it sound really greet
deep and lound, but sound not too high it sound just ok with a greet sound...
i would really recommend it...

Hmmmm i wish they had affordable Daewoo headers...

Most Daewoo aftermarket stuff comes from Australia, thats where all the major market is. They have Daewoo Lanos track racing, dozens of Lanos' rip around the track.

So you recommend removing the silencer and cat? and just go from the O2 sensor back? or Cat back?

i don't know which muffler mbrb used on the catback kit for tibs. it may be their own. however, i got the exhaust before the cai, and the exhaust sounded GREAT inside and outside of the car. it wasn't like a raspy civic, bee hive sound. it was nice, deep, and not ricer loud. just my two cents.

I have a Dynomax ThunderForce muffler, with my resonator removed. The diameter of the exhaust pipe wasn't changed. I find it sounds pretty damn good considering it sitting on the back of a 1.6L, I find it one of the deepest sounding exhausts I've heard.
