I didn't see any corrections to MY material, with exception to the BETA II not needing a tach adapter.
What changed in the 3rd gen models that no longer necessitates the adapter?
Not sure what changed. All I knmow mine is working without the adapter. ANd 97tib you WILL need this adapter if you dont have the G4CP XD engine.

The coils to the BetaII are different. They are not interchangable with the BetaI coils.
I'm not 100% sure HOW they are different, I can tell by looking at each that they are different (have one of each in my hand now.) The BetaII has 5 wires going in, the BetaI only has 3 wires going in. That's about the only major difference I can see between the two.

Wow, Hyundai changed it for the better...
The BETA I coilpacks use three wires -- a single 12VDC positive, and then one ignitor pulse wire for each coil from the ECU. The ground comes from the coilpack's connection to the block.
The BETA II coilpacks now have five wires -- a dedicated ground, two 12VDC feeds and two ignitor pulse wires from the ECU.
I might have to switch out; that setup is (likely) much more *stable* than the BETA I version.

Ok Random it might look that way. I got two wires going into my coils though. one ground each and one signal wire. they are not dedicated grounds. They are of the same color. I have to dig up my own wiring diagram i made somebody for the dis-2 I will post that up as soon as I find it or I will send it to you and you can post it up for me.
