Mounted Fpr (update 9-30-06)

I used the same tap that I used to mount the canister fuel filter with -10 braided hose.
Filter link: http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=221832
Then bought the 3/8" to 6an fitting. Tapped the rail precisely so that when I turned/tightened the FPR, it would face the correct position. And here it is.
No more braided line, mounting the FPR on the firewall, or using the special rail fitting. Cleeeeeaaaan. cool.gif
(Socks, you can do this and remove your braided hose from your strut tower wink1.gif )
Note: I used cheap red paint on that brass end fitting, and it chipped off after messing with it so much.

how heavy is that fpr? do you have any worries about it breaking the fitting?
(just remembering the series of oil pressure sender fiasco's)

^^it's probably fine, jon always thinks out all his mods well. plus that fitting, being -10 an, is MUCH larger than the 1/8 inch used on the oil lines.

Yea, its not that heavy.
I forgot, I needed to grind the tapered end off the AN side. The regulator would only let the fitting go in so far. Grinding it off let more fuel get through and around it.

nice spot ;-)
i've been mounting them like that for a while,
just use a good fitting (no brass)
now you need to replace that plastic vacuum fitting
BTW, if you go by drag racing rule (NHRA) no fuel system parts should be attached to the firewall

I've got a Golden Eagle vacuum manifold mounted. But haven't had the time to make all the braided lines to it.
I plan to start going by all the NHRA rules. I'm hoping to start racing soon.
I was gonna cut out the spare tire well, but that's a big no no.
