whats the most hp a 2.7Lcan handle safely?i heard some guy say 250 is the most it can handle cuz it has a weak crank and main bearings,is this the case?hope not,thius means the motor would dies quik anyway stock if people are using all the powerband,7000rpms is alot of rpms for a week motor am i right?even more so on a v6...i hope they didnt screw the v6 owners like that and let all you 2.0 fools have all the fun....

 

At this moment the main bearings and the crank are the weak point. Unfornuately, I been told by Random that just cause we put in better parts, could mean the block or something else will go. Right now their is no information yet. But I am sure with all the buzz and aftermarket stuff (I heard about a supercharger or turbo soon) that they would have more information on what the engine can do and what are it's weaknesses as a whole. To be honest I am wondering if I should just wait for the 2004. They seem to come out with a higher liter model ever year. last year was the 2.5 V6. Just keep an eye out till you decide you want to buy.

 

The 2.5L was around for 3 years (1999, 2000, 2001)

The only change I can really see coming is a stronger engine once people start throwing fits. Thats when I will buy the strong engine, put it on a stand, tack on the km's on my old weak engine, and throw my newly turbo strong engine in hehehehe.

 

your probly right,i had that thought but this is my wifes car and i was so sick of her weak civic that when she told me she liked the new tiburon i had seen one in car and driver and when i drove one and saw the leather and etc. i was mezmorized for 19k,my wifes four door ex was more loaded.they made one mistke by putting the big car they make w/ the 3.5 and the tiburon next to it the 3.5 would have been nice in it.but i know there prices will rise to and when they do the years to come hyundai may be another bad ass import it is allready if you want to put money in there other cars.you get what you pay for brand new..they did alot of stuff i am ashamed of like the fake dual exhaust,the weight to hp ratio and there are other perfomance issues that suck,but i think the thing that is selling the 2003 gt is the name gtv6 and they feel fast and mainly the looks stock 17s,leather,infinity sound,160mph speedo and so on...
