So, I installed the 1.8 cam last night, after that the car drove fine for about twenty minutes. Then, the CEL was blinking, I pulled over to an advance auto parts and ran the code through, came up with misfire in cylinder one. I checked my plugs, they were changed roughly 10,000-15,000 miles ago. But, the spark plug wire going to cylinder one has a small tear in it, could this cause the problem?

Definitely. Replace that wire and more than likely the problem will be solved.

Yup. You are probably arcing out of the wire.

What kind of wires are they?

just for reference, in ANY OBDII vehicle a flashing CEL means a misfire detected (usually enough to cause damage to your catayltic converter, in our case it means misfire in at least one cylinder detected at more than 2% per 1,000rpms). So no need to check the code at vatozone unless you are worried about OTHER codes.

Changed the wire, drove for about 25 miles and no problems. Thanks!
