Melted my cat!
Well for the past 2.5 months I have been driving around with my OBX Header and 2.5" hiflow cat. I was very happy with it until earlier last week when I noticed a strange rattle underneath the car at low rpm. I kind of pin pointed it to my cat. So I took it back to the shop that originally installed the header/cat and said that I think something had come lose. So they checked it out, and it turns out that the front of my cat had melted after only 2.5 months. They replaced it with a different brand cat, but they think the same thing will happen to the new one. The exhaust guy thinks there is something wrong with my engine, ie... running to rich, backfired or something. My car runs fine... idles fine... never have had a CEL. Anyway I am taking the car to the dealer next weekend to get them to do diagnostics checks and see if they can find the cause. My car only has 67000 km on it as well. Has anyone else experienced this? Anyone have any suggestions on what the problems could be?
do you know which "emissions market" tib you got? did you have the close-coupled cat on your stock exhaust manifold as well as the cat under the car, or just either of the two? the people at the dealership might be ****s if you've relocated or removed one of your cats. just some food for thought. running rich would not create this problem. it would foul your plugs and *possibly* clog the cat(though i'm not sure about that), but it wouldn't create excess heat to melt your cat.

Id answer this question apart from do you think your homepage is funny you idiot. I dont apreciate checking just to see if you list any mods and your homepage opening over 30 windows that just locked my system up. If you think thats amusing go and take your head for a dump and then come back fool. wiggle_m
i don't think it's consistent with the ethics of the forum to set your hompage to one of those sites. this is a place for the exchange of helpful information, not for possibly crashing someone's computer. i would suggest you change it.
Man spddmn! I can't even believe that you would post that website. That is some weak s**t! You should really conduct yourself in a more professional manner if you expect anyone to even want to look at your website. You need to make people feel welcome to look at your site and then maybe you could express your opinions and things openly. How would you feel if someone mail bombed you and locked up your computer. It wouldn't make you happy would it? I'm trying to start up a website about various local cars that my friends own and I actually want people to see them. Doing something like you did is the last thing on my mind. And see what happens is you had a question in this forum but people are so mad about your website (including myself) that they don't even feel like answering your question. One word...stupid.
