Guys, I have seen that A/T's are fussy over what type of tranny fluid you use. I have a 5spd and have searched the forums to see if they have the same issues, but I was unable to find anything relavent.

I am planning on switching the Tibby over to Amsoil everything (my dad is a distributor, and it has worked wonders on other cars I have owned)

Does the 5 spd have the same SPIII fluid requirements as the A/T's?

Thanks all

75w90, no GL-5. Although if it's backwards compatible with GL-3/4 as well, it should be fine. As long as it's safe for yellow metals. Redline is a good one. I'm using Royal Purple and it's great, shifts much more smoothly now.

Dude, I'm using Amsoil 75w90 GL-4 MTG. This stuff is awesome and well worth the money. I have 125,000 miles on my car and my transmission shifts extremely smooth. Ask your dad for 2 quarts of "Amsoil MTG".

Yeah, Amsoil solved the Sychro Problem in the Supra, I just wanted to make sure it was okay, as the A/T's are kind of finicky when it comes to what fluid you can use

Thanks for the help guys

I had RP in my trans when it started singing to me, now running redline and the noise has never gotten worse. My friend with the beta swap blew his trans with RP in it. Ill stick to redline from now on.

for most parts... redline, royal purple or amsoil is not available in regular auto parts store... try the "not so regular" speed shops areound you area, they will have them for sure or they can order/acquire them

and lastly, there's always summitracing.com
