I was driving to an interview this morning and when I shifted into second (I was getting on it too, kind of pulled out in front of someone that was close, didn't cut them off, but wanted to get to speed), all hell broke loose. I don't remember exactly what happened, but the car started to misfire very badly and lost all power, eventually stalling out. :/When I tried to re-start it, it would crank, but never start. By the way, everything in the car still works fine, radio, air/fuel gauge, etc. Except for the SAFC II. It is glitching all the time. Like the startup screen comes on, and when it normally goes to the values, it goes to a blank screen. When I try to initialize all of the data, it doesn't do it. I think I hit the power connection for the SAFC and unhooked it. When I try to start the car, there is a fast clicking noise coming from the ecu area. After I re-connected the pink wire for the safc, that noise went away. Needless to say, the car doesn't start and the check engine lamp is dim (when all of the other dash lights are bright). And the safc (for the second it worked) was only reading like 8 volts. So I have come to the assumption that the power connection to the safc is messed up somehow. Any help is greatly appreciated and the quicker the better. Thanks.

hmm...dunno where you're power issues are coming from but maybe check the ingition/start-up system. I would say plugs/wires but it doesn't seem like that since you're having trouble starting...so maybe check fuel ingectors. How old are they? Have they been replaced since stock? They may be dirty as fvck, that's the problem I'm facing right now...

Thanks for the reply. Well, considering the fact that this was an abrupt change, I think that I hit some of the wires that go into the ecu (I wear a size 13 shoe and sometimes when shifting it hits some wires under the dash, can't really help it). I have tapped into about 12 ecu wires to run the datalogging wires for the PLX and to run the safc wires. I will have to look at it some more and let you know what I find. I messed up the ignition wiring somehow, I just know it. BTW: I have nology hotwires (had them about 20,000 miles). My injectors haven't given me any troubles before so I have no reason to suspect them. I will go look at it and post up what I find I guess. Thanks man.

Sorry for the double post admins and mods, but there is no edit button. Anyway, the problem (oddly enough), was a bad ECU ground. For some reason there was excessive resistance and the voltage was dropping from 12 to 7? I simply ran a new ground for the ECU and the car runs great. Kind of a weird problem though. cool.gif
