Default Low End Power-Random/Red/Anyone?

Okay, I did a search but didn't find anythign directly pertaining to this, but I could just be stupid who knows.. My question is; what mods work well for low end power.. Like in the lower RPM ranges. Basically, I want more off the line power. To me it feels like there is nothing there, then once I hit like 3500 RPMs or so, then I feel it grab and pull nicely. But I want more acceleration off the line. What is there available to help this? Thanks!

-4-2-1 headers increase low end
-if your running auto than get the level10 torque converter and that will greatly increase off the line accelaration from what the site says
-the xd cam i think gets more power in at the lower part of the rpm band
-ripping out a/c belt helps too tongue.gif

What about the 1.8 GT cam that SR sells? What kind of performance changes does that give? Also, how does pulling the air conditioning belt out help acceleration, sounds kooky! .. And I got a 5-speed, so no go on the level10 thing. Hmm.. What about a lightened flywheel? Where would I look into one of those, thanks again, everyone!

ohhhh the xd cam helps out with top end more
woops i got confused thanks for the clear up

with the a/c belt
less belts running, more power getting to the wheels
doesn't increase your hp in any sense but it gets more to the ground with what you have

I don't know if your tib hooks up better than most but mine spins like a b*tch in first gear. More low end power is the last thing I want right now. I would concentate on getting a good wheel tire combo before trying to add more low end power. I don't know maybe you have already done this.

Naw bro.. not at all.. mine is slow as hell in first gear.. at least until about 3500-4000 RPMS, then it digs in nicely and off we go. But I get some ****ty ass starts. Could be my driving, could be my clutch, but I've run the little test where you slow down to 10 mph in second, then floor it, and my RPMS stay with my MPH.. so I don't think it's my clutch. Hm.. I would really like more low end torque/power

Ah, and I just put on some Kumho Ecsta's smile.gif

for low end power...

Increase bore
lengthen stroke (go with 2.0L rods)
Buy reworked crank from RPW (via Shark Racing of course)
4-2-1 headers
2.25 exahust
