Loud hum at 40mph and 60 mph

When i hit 40 and higher normaly i can hear a loud hum that doesnt seem like it should be happening, its the loudest right at 60 mph. Is that normal with a manual tib?

you gotta be more specific, it could be a million things.

i know i didnt change my break pads till they were completely worn out and i heard a humming noise.

its just a really loud errr sound that doesnt stop above 40, probably going in for 30k checkup soon so should i just tell them and see what they say?

eh... you guys aren't very optimistic... I think it's just the rearview mirror vibrating. At least mine does, and I hate it! evil.gif

a hum noise is much different from a vibrating noise thoiugh

need more specifics... where does it sound like it is coming from.. does it occiilate in frequency.. is there any strange vibrations in the car, only happen in some gears.. does it go away when breaking or accelerating? It could be ANY part of the car by the way you described it.

good, i'm not the only one!! I can't stand that thing. and it's pretty consistant with RPMs, not MPH. stupid mirror... :x

It comes from the front of the car, happens at any rpm really. it becomes softer when i decelerate passed 40ish and it gets louder starting at 40 and going up to 60 where it is the loudest and continues to go on passed 60
