need help with bottle placement with new trunk set up
anyone that lets their engine warm up before driving...how long do you normally wait? i posted over on hp.com about my a/f gauge blinking when it's cold and not working properly, so i've been waiting until that calms back down  before driving away. what's the average time you wait to let it warm up? :?

letting engine warm up
If it is above freezing, I just start the car and go. However, depending upon the temperature, my car does sometimes hesitate and has inconsistent acceleration (kinda feels like flat spots in the power band) for the first couple minutes.
If it is below freezing, I generally wait until the inside of the windshield is defrosted (anywhere from a couple minutes to 15, depending upon the temperature).

I do that too, Night shark.. right about the time hte needle starts to move, the hesitation is gone. I also park in the shade, so in the winter there is often frost or ice on my car....
My old excel, fiat, and lancia all have carbs.. those you need to let warm up a LOT more to avoid hesitation.

Now that I think about it, I'm more like NightShark... once the needle starts moving I usually start to take off... since it only takes a minute before it's to the normal point on the temp. gauge.... but I usually start my car a few minutes before walking out the door.... gotta love those remote starters! wink.gif

Well, I usually give it about 30 seconds if it is warm enough to wear a t-shirt. But in the winter, I let the temp gauge start registering first. I guess my biggest thing is that I don't run it HARD until it is fully warmed up.
