OK, I never had this many questions about an item as simple as a BBTB, but the last couple BBTB's I have had for other cars have been bored out originals.
Anyways my System Upgrade 60mm BBTB I got from SeoulfulRacing has a port hole that is drilled in the top of the throttle body just before the butterfly. The port hole id open and comes out the top of the back side by the intake manifold. It is open. I assumed that it would be covered by the gasket but it isn't. It isn't covered up by the phenolic spacer either. I was surprised that my car idles at ~750-850 RPMs and runs great.
Any ideas on this?
I can't imagine it is suppose to be open. I mean that is some hot & unfiltered dirty air that would be sucked in through there.
If you look at this pic you can clearly see the port hole I am referring to. It travels up into that block and takes a 90 out the backside. why would this be left open uncovered?

Thanks, what should I do?
Should I plug it somehow?
I thought about silicone, but I'd hate that idea if it got sucked into my engine.
How does that not create a vacuum leak or anything?
