i just installed the r-side basic shifter in my 97 tib. the height, and throw are both a LOT shorter. the 2nd piece that comes w/ the shifter requires you to adjust your shifter cable a bit, but it only takes about 2 seconds more to do.

 

I've been told not to try to adjust the shifter cables. I heard if it is off by a little it can F-up the transmission. I don't really know, just something I heard

btw If anyone is going to get the basic shifter I have one that I'll sell. I'll hit you up with a good price too. I just want to get rid of it. Too scared of messing up my shift plate

 

i thought only the Shark Racing short throw, you had to fabricate the shift plate...

 

Shark Racing is full of crap. That's not their shifter, it's the RSide Basic, they just rebadge everything to make it sound cool.

 

so the rside basic you need to fab, but the advance you don't need to, correct?

 

Yes, correct,

Rside advance is very similar to the B&M, which is also copied by OBX.
Except the Rside you can adjust the height of the shaft, the B&M is solid.

And Rside basic = SR SS. Same thing!

 

And, by the way, if anyone wants my B&M, let me know...

 

I'm ordering the advanced tomorrow, I;ve loved it since it came out, always wanted it. my question is how long do you think it will take to get here? shipping is like $20 so I hope not too long like around 2.5weeks, less would be good though :-)

 

Should ship out the Thursday after you order it man. Then from 4 to 7 business days. Don't forget, Korea is a day ahead.

 

haha did not check this post till now, wow, I nearly shat myself when it got here the next week, I was like WHAT?

a few things bugged me though, while I still love the shifter I noticed it came in what looked like a box you would get from ebay for a part that was already used. the RSide Sticker I got with it was f***ed up too, even though thats not a big deal because I'm not puttting it on the car and I will mos def be ordering many more RSide things from KSpec it just bothered me.

another thing that bothered me was that the shifter is short, but not as short as I thought, the throw is short and nice, but the shifter itself is not as short as the one Phorq put in, and yes I adjusted it just the other day, it still isn't that short.
