Kia announces overstatement of horsepower ratings
Optima sedan horsepower ratings overstated
Released and effective September 9, 2002, Kia announces that was notified by the engine supplier of the Optima sedan that its power ratings were overstated for the vehicle in model years 2001 and 2002.
Kia is currently notifying customers and offering a choice of additional warranty coverage or an extension of their 24-hour assistance plan.
Kia has reviewed the power ratings of the entire product line and found all ratings accurate.

i bet you its their entire line that has less hp!rio racer wont be please, i was already beatin her by enuff hp as it was!
next company to reveal this type of info is daewoo. if you see the pattern yet, it points to daewoo next. this isnt lookin good. darn it random! why u gotta be postin this stuff?!!!!

Its not a pattern with Korean manufacturers...its just Hyundai. Since the Optima uses the Sonata's engine and frame, ect...but Hyundai has admitted that the Sonata is over rated...so therefore the Optima is too.
