Default Kia announces overstatement of horsepower ratings

Optima sedan horsepower ratings overstated

Released and effective September 9, 2002, Kia announces that was notified by the engine supplier of the Optima sedan that its power ratings were overstated for the vehicle in model years 2001 and 2002.

Kia is currently notifying customers and offering a choice of additional warranty coverage or an extension of their 24-hour assistance plan.

Its not a pattern with Korean manufacturers...its just Hyundai. Since the Optima uses the Sonata's engine and frame, ect...but Hyundai has admitted that the Sonata is over rated...so therefore the Optima is too.
