Long story short:
replaced clutch in October, spec stage one w/ pressure plate and new Throwout bearing
Drove no more than 20k
transmission went
Take tranny off, notice throwout is kinda funny
Take pressure plate off w/ throwout bearing, bearing it pretty much shot
did not make noise this time around like the last one

What could cause this, or is it probably just a fluke. The bearing is only like $30, but if I gotta change it every 20-30k It would be a P.I.T.A.

Did you make sure the bearing was for your year transmission? I remember when I was calling around for prices on throwout bearings, some dealers would ask me for my VIN because there was a production split in 2000. Maybe you got a bearing for a post production split tranny?

Its a posibility that its from another year, when I ordered my clutch I ordered the clutch for a 98 tibby fx, so unless they sent me the wrong one from spec. I'll get the new one from a dealer though.

Or you can get a hold of Rick and pick up a VHR/Valeo one. I just did my clutch 2 weeks ago and the stock bearing was still in pretty good shape after 85k miles. It had a little play but not much. The VHR/Valeo one looks to be a little better built tho than the stock one.

Just wondering what makes you think the bearing is bad? They all have a little play in them no mater how new they are. Just curious.
