that sucks!

yeah there are some "low profile" o2 sensors out there but as far as part numbers, im not sure which one to use as the 2nd o2 sensor in your car. i have seen a couple of aftermarket o2 sensors in a tib so far and they didnt work at all (o2 sensor related cel's are on) even if the wirings are correctly connected

now, you can either stay with what you have and try to protect those wires as much as possible (heat shrink/electrical tape/wire loom it) or you could go back to the shop and tell them to fix it; meaning they would relocate the o2 sensor bung to a better spot and plug the old one

The o2 bung is in the cat. They'd have to cut the welds and rotate it some, or I dunno what else could be done. I wonder if there's enough side to side slack that you could push the rear section of the exhaust to the side to give me clearance.

I dunno. I tried to hammer a notch into the tunnel, but can't get a good enough angle to do it. I'm going to drop by them later and ask them what they can do to fix the problem.

I have a magnaflow muffler with O2 sensor bungs built in. My muffler shop did very good job and they had to turn the CAT to get the O2 sensor in place without touching anything.

when i had my obx 4-2-1's put in i drilled the hole and took it to midas to have an O2 bung welded on, it only cost $10. they did a pretty good job too. ofcourse the headers weren't on the car.

Redz...buy a flux-core wire welder. Trust me it will be one of the best investments ever. I bought one, spent 2 hrs practicing on various metals, and later that day welded the header to a high flow cat, cat to exaust, and two o2 sensor bungs (one on the back of the cat and the other for a wideband). The welder cost me under $200 and I've been welding everything myself ever since. No stupid shops, weld it how YOU want it, and no fees........
